Here are statements by three students who took this course in 2014:
CHAO Yi: “The international criminal law course taught by Professor Morten Bergsmo is an exciting academic journey where students are provided with well-rounded perspectives and fresh materials to understand international criminal law and procedure. Discussions with Professor Bergsmo, guest lecturers and classmates of diverse professional, academic and cultural backgrounds constantly stimulate me to come up with new ideas, scrutinize their validity and applicability and form meaning communication with people of different opinions”.
SUN Yi: “Professor Bergsmo’s course was an excellent combination of both the theory and practice of international criminal law, also comprehensible for students from other majors. Moreover, the guest speeches enabled us to gain knowledge from experienced lawyers with different backgrounds. Through Professor Bergsmo’s instruction, in particular his analysis of the Rome Statute article by article, my knowledge of ICL expanded from the basic idea of individual criminal responsibility to a full set of applicable standards. I sincerely recommend this course to everyone in the law school”.
CHEN Xiaohang: “Professor Morten’s expertise in International Criminal Law and insight into international community are something really worth experiencing. During one semester’s engagement in the course, it is not only knowledge that we have learned, but also the possibility and projection for a better world that we have touched upon”.
